**Exclusive: West Ham ‘Set to Consider Serious Offers’ to Sign £60m Star**
West Ham United are reportedly prepared to consider serious offers for the signing of a high-profile £60 million-rated star, sources have exclusively revealed.
With the 2025 summer transfer window approaching its final stretch, the Hammers are actively exploring ways to strengthen their squad under new manager Julen Lopetegui. While multiple positions are being assessed, midfield remains a key area of focus — and West Ham are ready to act swiftly if the right opportunity arises.
According to sources close to the club, the player in question is João Palhinha of Fulham — a long-standing target for the East London side. West Ham previously attempted to sign the Portugal international last summer, only to be priced out by Fulham’s valuation, believed to be around £60 million. However, recent developments suggest Fulham may now be open to negotiations, and West Ham are monitoring the situation closely.
Palhinha, 30, has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent defensive midfielders since arriving in England in 2022. Known for his physicality, aerial ability, and reading of the game, he would bring much-needed steel to West Ham’s midfield, especially with the future of Edson Álvarez uncertain amid interest from top European clubs.
While Bayern Munich also remain interested in Palhinha after a failed bid last year, West Ham believe they could now present a more attractive proposition with guaranteed playing time and a central role under Lopetegui.
No formal bid has yet been submitted, but serious internal discussions have taken place, and West Ham are said to be preparing to test Fulham’s resolve before the window closes.
If Fulham are willing to lower their asking price or accept structured payments, a late move could be
on the cards.
