Vendée Globe: the ranking of Monday November 25 in the morning, Dalin takes a slight lead over Ruyant

Charlie Dalin still leads the fleet, but it is Yoann Richomme who has broken a new record for distance covered in 24 hours.

Charlie Dalin (Macif Santé Prévoyance) took a slight lead over Thomas Ruyant (Vulnerable) on Monday at the 7am time point while Yoann Richomme (Paprec Arkéa) closed in on the leader, after once again beating the record for distance covered in 24 hours.

In total, thanks to the depression that allowed them to accelerate on Sunday, six boats beat the previous record set between Tuesday and Wednesday by Richomme (551.4 miles covered, or 1022 kilometers). But it was the 41-year-old sailor himself who improved this record the most, with 579.86 miles (1073.9 km) covered in 24 hours, ahead of Ruyant (572.4 miles, 1060.08 km).

Dalin made up ground during the night on Ruyant, which he is ahead of by almost 50 miles. Richomme has for his part slightly closed in on the leader, and is 58 miles behind. A fairly substantial gap has opened up between the first three and their four immediate pursuers.

Sam Goodchild (Vulnerable) has thus lost three places, dropping from 4th to 7th position, but he is only 12 miles behind Sébastien Simon (Groupe Dubreuil), who is once again 4th.
