The final stop of Hamilton’s farewell tour was perhaps the most emotional, given its profound significance.
For one last time, Hamilton addressed the Mercedes F1 team, with whom he has secured 84 wins, 78 pole positions, 153 podium finishes, six World Drivers’ Championships, and eight World Constructors’ Championships since joining in 2013.
“Mercedes has changed my life,” he said.
“Growing up in Stevenage, dreaming of one day being in Formula 1 and becoming a World Champion, it was just me and my two parents back then. I never imagined there would be so many people who would lift me up and help me achieve something like this.
“I’ll always be watching on the screens, cheering you all on. I’ll always wish you the best.
“I believe in you, and I’ll continue to believe in you. When you succeed, I’ll be so proud to know that I was part of your journey, even if just a small part of it.
“Thank you all, with all my love. I wish you and your families the very best.”
Reflecting on an emotional week of farewells, Hamilton shared on Instagram: “This is really it. After Abu Dhabi, after Kuala Lumpur, and after Stuttgart, it all ends here [Brackley].
“This has been my home. To the thousands of people working at Brackley and Brixworth, you’ve been friends and teammates, and I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work and support.
“It’s been real.”
