The Michigan Wolverines have recently bolstered their 2025 football recruiting class with several high-profile commitments, signaling a promising future for the program.
Bryce Underwood’s Commitment
In November 2024, Michigan secured the commitment of five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the nation’s top recruit for the 2025 class. Underwood, a Belleville, Michigan native, initially committed to LSU but flipped to Michigan, citing the opportunity to play close to home and the program’s strong support system. His decision was influenced by Michigan’s enhanced Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) offerings, including a substantial deal facilitated by the Champions Circle collective.
Nathaniel Marshall’s Flip
In December 2024, five-star defensive lineman Nathaniel Marshall de-committed from Auburn and re-committed to Michigan. Marshall, a 6’5″, 270-pound prospect from Oak Park, Illinois, is ranked as the No. 2 defensive lineman and No. 26 overall recruit in the 2025 class. His return to Michigan strengthens the Wolverines’ defensive line, adding depth and talent to their front seven.
Andrew Babalola’s Signing
Offensive tackle Andrew Babalola, a five-star recruit from Overland Park, Kansas, signed with Michigan in December 2024. Standing 6’6″ and weighing 300 pounds, Babalola is expected to make an immediate impact on Michigan’s offensive line, providing protection for Underwood and enhancing the team’s running game.
Ty Haywood’s Commitment
In February 2025, five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood from Denton, Texas, flipped his commitment from Alabama to Michigan. Haywood, 6’5″ and 285 pounds, is ranked as the No. 16 overall recruit by ESPN. His decision to join Michigan’s class adds another elite talent to the Wolverines’ offensive line, bolstering their protection schemes.
Chase Herbstreit’s Commitment
In December 2024, quarterback Chase Herbstreit, son of ESPN analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit, committed to Michigan. Herbstreit, a three-star recruit from Cincinnati, Ohio, brings leadership and experience to the quarterback room, complementing Underwood’s arrival.
These commitments have propelled Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class to a top-10 national ranking, with the Wolverines now positioned to compete at the highest levels in college football
