Parramatta Eels centre Will Penisini is reportedly set to extend his contract with the club, influenced by an unexpected development. The 22-year-old has expressed a strong desire to remain with the Eels, citing his positive relationship with new head coach Jason Ryles and the club’s supportive environment. Penisini stated, “I want to stay here and I’ve been talking to Rylesy about it… Hopefully the club and my management can sort something out longer term.”
Penisini’s commitment to the Eels is further underscored by his recent performances. In the 2024 NRL season, he played 23 games, scoring ten tries, and has accumulated 30 tries in 80 games since his debut in 2021.
His consistent form has solidified his position as a key player for the Eels.
The Eels have also demonstrated their commitment to developing young talent by extending the contracts of three pathways players—Charlie Guymer, Saxon Pryke, and Richard Penisini—until the end of the 2026 season.
