Following the incidents on Sunday during Nantes-Le Havre (0-2), the Brigade Loire, a group of Nantes supporters, is in the sights of the Ministry of the Interior, which wants it to be dissolved.
Men dressed in black with balaclavas in the green and yellow colours of FC Nantes try to enter the field. It is then the extra time of this Nantes-Le Havre. The stewards have to intervene and block the supporters with barriers.
A surreal scene this Sunday at the Stade de la Beaujoire, followed by a half-hour interruption of the match. This match of the 12th day of Ligue 1 ends in confusion with a defeat of the Nantais (0-2), 16th in the championship and play-off players.
The images were clearly not to the liking of the Ministry of the Interior. According to information from Ouest-France, which we are able to confirm, for Minister Bruno Retailleau and his team the dissolution of the Brigade Loire, the main group of supporters of FC Nantes, some of whose members are at the origin of these incidents at the end of the match, is “under consideration”.
A decision that Brice Hortefeux had also taken in 2010 by dissolving seven groups of supporters, including five in Paris. For the Ministry of the Interior, it matters little that the Brigade Loire is not constituted as an association.
This provision thus avoids it being summoned to court, but not dissolution since the top gendarme of France considers that the Brigade Loire is nevertheless recognized as “a de facto group”.
After this incident, a response from the supporters to the catastrophic sporting situation of the club (winner of only one of its 16 matches in 2024 at the Beaujoire), FC Nantes is playing for high stakes. Summoned Wednesday by the disciplinary committee, it risks a partial or total closed session.
